Sunny’s Story

Growing up I was a small-town girl with big dreams. Not knowing those dreams would face roadblocks, I learned the hard way. In order to cope with my inner struggles, I turned to drinking. When I would drink, all of my problems would go away—temporarily.

As I drank, I believed in the idea of “my body, my choice” and convinced myself I was not hurting anyone. I went from drinking casually to entering rehab in 2010.

Changing my lifestyle and checking into rehab was the best thing that could have happened to me. The time away from home allowed me to rethink my purpose in my life and begin to change my decision-making process. In rehab, I became the woman I always wanted to be.

  • Peaceful
  • Motivational
  • Positive
  • Ambitious
  • Free-spirited

Prior to rehab, I was not where I thought I should be in life. Whom can anyone relate to that feeling? I felt I was coasting through life instead of living it and hurting myself in the process with the drinking. Through rehab, I gained acceptance of myself!

Sincerely Sunny is my digital voice to share my journey and sharing my melting pot of thoughts along the way.
This blog also is about inspiring others to tap into their purpose. I want people in similar situations to my life story know that life is full of positives and negatives. It is your decision to focus more on the positives and just run with it.

That is all, for now…
